During the COVID pandemic we saw demand for our service increase by more
than 100% and we now need more volunteers to meet those demands.
What makes a good telephone befriender?
Someone who is interested in other people
Someone who is a good listener
Someone who is reliable
We are always in need of additional volunteers to join our wonderful telephone befrienders. If you are friendly, reliable and can spare 1 hour a week for a phone call with someone in the sight loss community, please get in touch. Our video explains a bit more about the role.
Volunteering for Sightline might be a great opportunity for you.
Here are just a few reasons why:
A great addition

“I first applied to volunteer with Sightline in 2018 and have enjoyed many
phone calls along the way! I currently have 2 calls a week with 2 different service
users and have been calling both individuals for just over a year now.”
